Loyalty or Devotion?

Be responsible to the consequences of your choice

Helen is the daughter of Zeus and Leda. A very charming and gorgeous woman, the queen of Sparta and the sister of Pollux. She was destined to a Trojan prince named Paris; a very handsome and brave man that could do anything for his love. They met each other on the day of Helen’s engagement party to Menelaus, prince of Mycenae with a boastful brother named Agamemnon. Paris leaves the Sparta with Helen and goes with her back to Troy. Their kingdoms are in rival but they don’t mind the situation because of their love with each other. Spartans set a war between the two of them because they thought that the Trojans steal their queen. Hector, the brother of Paris, fought against the Spartans and fight against Achilles, the greatest warrior of Spartans. Hector was killed. After that time, Paris also got killed because of protecting Helen from the Spartans and because of love. Ten years passed by and King Priam, the king of Troy saw a Trojan horse at their shore, and thought that it was an offering. They let the Trojan horse brought inside the Troy. They never thought that it was trickery from the Spartans. That night, when all Trojans are fall asleep, the Spartans kill almost all the innocent Trojans. And the downfall of Troy has occurred. Agamemnon conquered Troy and got killed by his husband, Clytemnestra: the sister of Helen.

Wisest King Odysseus, a king of Ithaca, the alliance of Sparta and Mycenae. He also fought for Sparta so he went with Agamemnon and Menelaus. He promised to his wife Penelope, which she recently gave birth to their son, Talachmus, to be back after the war. After ten years, Odysseus still stayed with the Spartans and he has been informed that since he was far away from Ithaca, various suitors were in their house to suit his wife. The gods and goddesses were always with him, Athena give him the idea of building the Trojan horse. After the war, he talked to Poseidon. The god of sea got angry because of his pride so Poseidon made his way back home to Ithaca miserable. He was brought to various islands with various girls that made him stay longer. After almost 20 years, he gets back to Ithaca. The suitors of Penelope abused the riches of their family. He met Talachmus at the shepherd’s house. Athena let him disguised as a beggar for him to know the situation inside his palace and only his son know who was he. His identity revealed when no one passed the trials that Penelope gave to his suitors. They killed the arrogant suitors of Penelope. Then, they meet each other again and fulfill his promise to be backed home alive.

Penelope and Helen. Poles apart women with diverse characteristics. Queen of Ithaca and the Queen of Sparta. Different sufferings and dissimilar perceptions in life. Penelope is the wife of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. They had a child named Talachmus. Helen, queen of Sparta is the wife of Menelaus, king of Mycenae. Penelope waited for Odysseus to come back after the war. Even many suitors suited her; she stayed loyal to her husband even for how many years. Helen, because of his love for Paris, she go with him even she knows what will happen if she do it. She followed her heart and didn’t mind for the world against their love. Penelope stayed loyal to Odysseus. Helen learned to love Menelaus after ten years of death of Paris. Different choices, different responsibilities, different consequences still, it depends upon us.

Every one of us have different point of view. There are inevitable circumstances that in your choice, many people are not in favor with it. Sometimes, we are hurt, but we need to accept criticisms from other people. But still, it depends upon us if we will follow them or will follow our heart’s desire. We must be responsible to the consequences of our choice.
